We understand that sometimes, situations arise where you feel uncomfortable, unheard, or in need of guidance. That’s why AEGEE-Groningen has a Safe Contact Person Body dedicated to providing you with a confidential, supportive, and understanding space. Whether you’re feeling uncomfortable due to peer pressure, experiencing or witnessing bullying, or dealing with comments or behaviors of a sexual nature that make you uneasy, this person is here to help.
How does a Safe contact person work?
The SCP is your first point of contact when you’re facing challenging situations and need someone to listen and offer support. They are here to listen to you without judgment. They provide a reassuring presence and help you make sense of the situation at hand. If needed, they can connect you with the right professionals, or organizations equipped to provide further assistance.
Whether it’s a one-time incident or an ongoing challenge, our Safe Contact Person is here to ensure you’re never alone in navigating difficult situations.

Wake up student
One of the organizations that the Safe Contact Person can refer you to, is our partner Wake Up Student. Here, you can get your first session for free as a member of AEGEE-Groningen.
If negative feelings continue to arise, it is high time for a ‘wake-up call’. Together with a Student Coach, you will look at how you can combine effective studying with a constructively active student life, in which goal orientation, personal development and motivation are central.
After signing up, you can go for an introductory meeting the same week.
Mental Health Resource package
AEGEE also puts a strong focus on discussing and improving mental health among students. In addition to organizing lectures and workshops, we created a Mental Health Resource Package. Below you can find this guide, incuding organisations that can help you in a variety of ways if you encounter problems.
